Hog Pogs are a brilliantly simple, wildly comforting vintage appetizer that hits all the best flavor notes: savory, creamy, salty, and warm. This four-ingredient appetizer is an open-faced cocktail toast. It’s raw ground Italian sausage, softened cream cheese, finely grated Parmesan, slathered on a slice of baguette and baked until golden. It can’t get any easier!

Directions
1Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil. Set aside.
2In a medium bowl, mix together the sausage and cream cheese until well combined. Add the parmesan cheese, and mix to combine.
3Spread each slice of bread with a thin layer of the sausage mixture. Place on prepared baking sheet.
4Repeat with remaining bread slices. Top with a light sprinkling of parmesan cheese. Bake until sausage is cooked through and edges of the bread have browned, about 15 minutes.
5Broil until lightly browned, about 2 minutes.
