I know this is deeply weird, but this Cuban Inspired Ham & Swiss Pizza is absolutely delicious. I'm mean pickles on pizza?! Don't knock it until you've tried it. I love having pizza night and ask your guests to bring their own toppings.
Prep: 10 mins
Cook: 15 mins
Yields: 6 Servings
Ingredients
cornmeal, for baking sheet
flour, for shaping
1 pound pizza dough
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
2 tablespoons crème fraîche
8 thin slices of ham
8 slices cook bacon, chopped
12 ounces Swiss cheese, shredded
⅓ cup dill pickles, chopped
Directions
1Dust a baking sheet with cornmeal. On a lightly floured surface, shape the dough into a 14- to 16-inch oval, circle, or rectangle and place on the prepared baking sheet.
2Preheat oven to 425° F.
3Roll out pizza dough onto a 12 inch pizza pan. Spread with mustard, then crème fraîche, cheese, and then layer on the ham, and bacon.
4Bake for 12 - 15 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly and crust is cooked through.
Not weird at all, we have a local restaurant who make their own pickles and put whole slices on their pizza – just delicious, once tried a pizza is naked without them!
