This Grilled Salmon with Maple Butter Glaze is the best salmon we've ever done on a grill. I bought my husband a Big Green Egg for his birthday (or was it for mine?). All I can say is WOW! Everything we've made on it has been amazing. The marinade is amazing and this recipe would work on a regular grill or in the oven.

  • Prep: 3 hrs
  • Cook: 15 mins
  • Yields: 4 Servings

Ingredients

4 salmon fillets, with skin on

½ cup soy sauce

½ cup lemon juice

⅓ cup brown sugar, packed

¼ cup vegetable oil

2 cloves garlic, crushed

2 tablespoons butter, melted

2 tablespoons maple syrup

Directions

1Combine soy sauce, lemon juice, brown sugar, oil and garlic and stir to dissolve sugar. Pour into a zippered-top plastic bag and add salmon. Marinate in the refrigerator 3 to 6 hours.

2After marinating, allow the salmon to stand at room temperature for 30 minutes before grilling, then pat dry with a paper towel.

3Mix together the butter and maple syrup and brush over entire surface of the salmon.

4Preheat grill.

5Place the salmon on the grill on a fish grid and cook for 15 to 20 minutes. Salmon is done when a knife inserted in the fillet slides in easily with no resistance and flesh is no longer opaque.

6Remove salmon; using a clean brush, brush on any remaining maple syrup/butter mixture and wrap in foil for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.

Loved this salmon! We ended up skilleting it outside on our side burner…..delicious! Will make again. Maybe next time I’ll add some scallions, too. Thank you!!
