I know this Bacon Wrapped Pickle and Cheese Stuffed Hot Dog is a tad over the top! My husband likes anything that involves pickles, so I decided to make it for him. You can grill it or cook it in the oven. If you ditch the bun you have a Keto-friendly meal.

  • Prep: 15 mins
  • Cook: 40 mins
  • Yields: 6 Servings

Ingredients

6 hot dogs

4 ounces cheddar cheese

pickle spears

6 slices bacon

6 hot dog buns

Directions

1Preheat oven to 400° F, or preheat a grill to medium heat. For the oven, line a baking sheet with foil.

2Cut a slit down the middle of the hot dogs, don’t cut all the way through.

3Carefully spread the middle and stuff with cheese and pickle spears. Wrap each hot dog with a strip of bacon. Secure with toothpicks.

4Bake hot dogs in the oven for 35 to 40 minutes or on the grill for 10 to 15 minutes, until bacon is crispy and everything is cooked through. Remove toothpicks, place hot dogs in bun, top with desired condiments, serve.

These dogs are very good! We ate them this way in the 50s.
