Day 11 – My Trip to Japan

We were taken to a restaurant called CICADA by our very good friends and their family.  It is situated in historic Omotesando, and has Mediterranean-style cuisine along with fine wines in an oasis of lush greens, soothing waterfalls, and gentle lights.

CICADA moved to a 50-year old building built by a famous Japanese architect. Its original purpose was to provide living space for the employees of the owner’s company.

The food was wonderful.

Well, I suppose this is true!IMG_1458

We tried to find a cheap ramen place and ended up going to this Mexican restaurant called Caliente.  I know, it seems strange being from Los Angeles going to a Mexican restaurant in Tokyo, but it was interesting to see their interpretation of Mexican food.IMG_1460

Tacos – the tortillas were slightly off, but not bad.IMG_1463
