This Sweet & Salty Dry Salmon Rub is great grilled. A perfect balance of sweet and salty.

Sweet & Salty Salmon Dry Rub

Ingredients

1/3 cup firmly packed light brown sugar

2 tablespoons kosher salt

2 tablespoons paprika

2 tablespoons chili powder

1 tablespoon ground coriander

2 teaspoons garlic powder

1 teaspoon celery seeds

1 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper

Directions

1Combine all ingredients, and store in an airtight container.

2Prepare grill for direct grilling on medium. Brush grate until very clean. Coat the grill with oil.

3Pat salmon fillets dry. Coat flesh sides with BBQ rub. Place salmon, skin side down, on grill. Cover; cook without turning over 14 minutes or until just opaque. With metal spatula, scrape fillets from grill. If skin sticks to grate, remove fillet only.

Absolutely. You can leave the celery seed out.

This looks amazing, but I can’t figure out why celery seed? I like to add EVOO to my salmon, it keeps it from drying out. Would that work with this rub, and would I drizzle it on before or after? Thanks!

This is the BEST rub ever! My friend made it for a bbq and it was a hit. I’ve never had salmon so good. I make this in triple batches to always have on hand.
