Shells with Pesto Alfredo and Bacon

This Shells with Pesto Alfredo and Bacon is a great way to liven up your Alfredo sauce.

Ingredients

1 pound medium shells pasta

8 ounces mushrooms, sliced

3 slices bacon, cut into ½ inch pieces

1/4 cup pesto

1 cup store bought Alfredo sauce

Salt and pepper to taste

Parmesan cheese, to taste

Directions

1In a large pot of boiling water, cook pasta according to directions. Remove pasta from water and drain.

2Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add bacon pieces and cook until light brown but not crisp. Remove bacon from pan and set aside. Do not clean pan.

3Add mushrooms to pan. Cook on medium-high heat for a couple of minutes, turning over once or twice. When water starts seeping out of mushrooms, turn heat to medium. Add the sauce and pesto, mix and heat through.

4When the sauce begins to simmer, add your pasta in and stir thoroughly. Top with Parmesan cheese.
