One of my favorite things to do is to develop recipes. I am always trying to add more hors d'oeuvres to my repertoire. I wasn't sure how these Sausage with Cranberry, Sage and Orange Zest Pinwheels would turn out. The combination of cranberries, sage and orange zest really works well with the sausage. They got rave reviews and are perfect for holiday parties.

Yields: 12 Servings
Ingredients
1 pound bulk sausage
⅔ cup dried cranberries
zest of 1 orange
6 sage leaves, finely chopped
pack ready-rolled puff pastry
Directions
1Preheat the oven to 400° F.
2In a bowl, combine the sausage, cranberries, orange zest and sage leaves and set aside.
3Spread sausage over dough evenly.
4Starting with a long edge, roll dough and sausage into a log.
5Refrigerate log overnight or until firm.
6Slice ½ inch pieces from the log and place on parchment lined baking sheet.
