Pork Tonkatsu

Pork Tonkatsu is a Japanese dish of deep fried pork cutlet, which typically placed on a bed of shredded cabbage. It is served with Tonkatsu sauce which a type of thick Japanese Worcestershire sauce that uses pureed fruit as a main ingredient.

Pork Tonkatsu

Ingredients

4 pork chops

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper

1/4 cup flour

1 egg

1/2 cup panko bread crumbs

Vegetable oil for frying

Directions

1Pound pork to 1/4-inch thickness. Coat with flour, then dip into egg, and finally coat thoroughly with Panko.

2Fry in 1 inch vegetable oil, heated to 350º, 3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown. Place on a bed of shredded cabbage, for presentation. Serve with Tonkatsu sauce.
