Plum Galette

This rustic Plum Galette is the perfect summer dessert. The ripe plums are juicy and delicious and it takes only minutes to throw together. Serve it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of crème fraîche.

Ingredients

6 plums, skin-on and sliced

¼ cup brown sugar

1 pie crust

flour, for work surface

1 egg, whisked with 1 tablespoon water

1 tablespoon Demerara sugar

Directions

1Preheat oven to 375° F.

2Roll out your pie crust on lightly floured parchment paper.

3Mix the plums with the brown sugar. Arrange the sliced fruit in the center and working your way out, leaving a 2-inch border of crust.

4Fold the crust edges up and over the fruit.

5Transfer the parchment to a baking sheet.

6Brush dough with egg wash and sprinkle evenly with Demerara sugar.

7Bake for 30 minutes, until the fruit center is bubbly and the crust is golden brown.

8Serve topped with a scoop of your favorite vanilla ice cream.
