Try this Panacea Cocktail, which is a soothing combination of Scotch, ginger, honey and lemon to help cure your cough. It may not cure you, but it will certainly make you feel better!

Yields: Makes 1 cocktail
Ingredients
Honey-Lemon-Ginger Syrup
1 cup honey
1 cup water
½ cup ginger, minced
¾ cup fresh lemon juice
Cocktail
2 ounces honey-lemon-ginger syrup
2 ounces blended Scotch
¼ ounce single-malt Scotch
Directions
Make Honey-Lemon-Ginger Syrup
1In a small pot over medium heat, simmer honey, water and ginger until mixture cooks down to a thick syrup, 10 minutes.
2Strain through a fine-mesh sieve, pressing on solids to extract liquid. Discard solids.
3Add lemon juice to syrup and stir. Cover and chill.
Cocktail
1In a tumbler half-filled with ice, stir together honey-lemon-ginger syrup and Scotch.
2Pour ¼ ounce single-malt Scotch over the back of a spoon so it floats on top of drink.
3Garnish with a slice of ginger and candied lemon peel (optional).
