Lita Sandwich

Taco Lita since 1967
The tacos at Taco Lita are not authentic Mexican tacos. They are for gringos, but very good for what they are. Taco Lita is all about their signature little packets of sauce, which is so addictive, I always bring a stash home to have with my homemade tacos.
The Lita Sandwich, which I think should be renamed a Sloppy José, is sort of a taco on a hamburger bun. It has to weight about 2 pounds! It has taco meat, a ton of cheddar cheese, lettuce, pickles and some sort of thousand island dressing. They ask you if you want sauce and you must say yes and then take the rest home.
Legend has it that the men’s room is haunted by a tall, slender, elderly man who wears a pale yellow sweater and khaki pants. He is known to enter the men’s room, turn on the light and close the door. When people repeatedly knock on the door and open it – there’s no one in there….
