Wake Up People, It’s December!

I can’t even believe it’s December!  Yikes, it always makes me nervous.  There are just too many details to take care of and I always forget some.  Zoe had the assignment of taking a photograph for the header for December.  I love it.  She’s a becoming a great photographer.

I’m not into cutesy.  I grew up in the Holly Hobbie days, remember the horror of that?  I was usually up in my room blaring David Bowie albums trying to escape the preciousness of it all.  Most of my plates of food go out on the “under garnished” side.  I do think less is more or Les is more, if you know what I mean.

What on earth does this have to do with food?  I have no idea.  But, it you want to get in the yule tide spirit with Holly you can make this cake….

Holly Hobbie Apple Cake

3 eggs, beaten well
1¾ cup sugar
1 cup cooking oil
2 cup flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
2 cup sliced apples
½ cup chopped nuts

Mix all ingredients thoroughly by hand.

Pour into greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan.

Bake at 375° for 50 minutes.
