Greek Yogurt, a Gift from the Gods

I am so happy to see Greek yogurt available at most supermarkets now. I have been eating it since the early ‘90s. It is so good, rich, thick, creamy and delicious and tastes very different from regular yogurt. You can use it as a substitute for sour cream or as the Brits say “soured” cream. I usually buy Fage Total Greek Yogurt.
The Brits have been early adopters of Greek Yogurt. In fact, one of our favorite desserts is something that the used to serve at the restaurant at John Lewis department stores in the UK. John Lewis owns old-fashioned department stores operating under several different names—their store in London’s Sloane Square is called Peter Jones (“PJ’s” is much beloved by London’s Sloane Rangers) and that is where I first had this simple dish. They may still serve it.
Anyway, it’s healthy, absolutely delicious and dead-easy to make.
It’s just a generous dollop of Greek Yogurt, topped with crumbled-up Hob Nobs, drizzled with honey and sprinkled with toasted, slivered almonds.
Hob Nobs are oaty biscuits made by McVities in the UK. You can find them at Cost Plus World Market.
