Steak Sandwich with Pepperoncini Pesto

Peperoncino is the generic Italian name for hot chili peppers. They add a touch of heat, along with a pleasing saltiness to this delicious pesto and goes perfectly with steak.

  • Yields: 4 Servings

Ingredients

1 pound sliced medium-rare steak (about 2 cups)

4 ciabatta rolls, toasted lightly

Pesto

½ cup pepperoncini, drained and chopped

3 Tablespoons flat leaf parsley, chopped

4 Tablespoons fresh basil, chopped

4 garlic cloves, peeled

½ cup olive oil

2 Tablespoons spicy brown mustard

Kosher salt and pepper to taste

Directions

1Put all the ingredients into a small food processor and blend until well combined.

2Assemble steak and pesto on rolls.
