This Sesame Panko Baked Chicken Tenders with Japanese BBQ Sauce is quick and easy. Instead of using just sesame seeds, I actually used Trader Joe's Everything but the Bagel Sesame Seasoning Blend and panko. The Japanese BBQ sauce works perfectly with this chicken. I served it all with broccoli and Japanese sushi rice.

  • Prep: 10 mins
  • Cook: 15 mins
  • Yields: 4 - 6 Servings

Ingredients

1½ pounds chicken tenders

salt and pepper to taste

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon soy sauce

6 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds

kosher salt

4 tablespoons panko

canola oil spray

Japanese BBQ Sauce

¼ cups ketchup

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 tablespoon mirin

1 tablespoon sugar

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

¼ teaspoon garlic powder

Directions

1Preheat oven to 425° F.

2Spray a baking sheet with canola oil spray.

3Combine the sesame oil and soy sauce in a bowl, and add the chicken. Then add the sesame seeds, salt and panko in another.

4Dredge the chicken tenders into the sesame seed mixture to coat well.

5Place on the baking sheet; lightly spray the top of the chicken with oil spray and bake 8 – 10 minutes. Turn over and cook another 4 – 5 minutes longer or until cooked through. Serve with BBQ sauce.
